OK, this year we went on a 10 day vacation to Petrovac, Montenegro again. We liked it so much last year that couldn't resist not to come and explore MORE of this beautiful country and its nature. The weather was wonderful (as almost always in Montenegro during the summer) and we had a chance to enjoy pretty much everything there's to enjoy about seashore vacation: sea swimming, snorkling, suntanning, cooking fresh sea food, seeing many ancient cities, exploring Adriatic cusine.

This time, instead of writing too much here in the blog we've decided to record short videos with tales about parts of our trip to Montenegro. So here you go. Enjoy! (appologies for the in/out of focus during the video - out camera needs repair:-)

Ok, from the very beginning this blog entry name should have sounded as "Summer vacation in Italy". It was up to the point until Katya didn't get her visa (since Italian Embassy is a strange place:-) just 4 days before our flight from Kyiv... and we had to cancel our trip to Italy.

Good thing is that (even though in past 2,5 years Ukraine is getting more and more isolated internationally, which is no surpries with our current President) there are still some countries where Ukrainians can travel without a VISA. One of them is Montenegro, where some of our friends have been already and recommended us to go. So we decided... why not?

Productive day in KYIV: US VISA, new boss, appartment to live in



Well, yesterday was a very LONG but one of the most productive days in my life for past couple of months. May be I should rather say the day when many things, that have been happening on the background (preparations, thoughts, prayers) just fell into place and I have seen the physical results of those. To summarize all that 18 hours long day I have got my VISA to US, received approval for my Christmas/New Year vacation from my new boss (which means we can come to Passion 2012 and spend Christmas with our friends in US!!:-) and, I think, I have found an apartment to live in when we move to Kyiv. So, now so many questions that we had in our heads cleared up and we can continue on with our move to Kyiv and plans for next 4-6 months of our life.

I have got my US VISA , received approval for Christmas/New Year vacation and found good apartment to live in.

Funny story from that morning... I came to US consulate around 7:45 (as was written at the web site) and there was already a huge line there. Maybe around  25-30 people in front of me to get their visas! I was last in that line... ok, I thought to myself I will wait.How surprised I was when one of the guards asked "Is Mr. Shekhovtsov here?"... I said "Yes, its me". "Please follow me and stand here" - he said to me pointing

Trip to Denmark

Yes, we've finally made it!! Our trip to Denmark to visit Taras and Elizabeth's wedding went really well. It was an unbelievable time together with friends and experiencing this new and very interesting culture.

The wedding was fabulous and it was a real pleasure to help (Katya was playing piano), meet all Elizabeth's large family and just have FUN together. The Lord has also allowed us to wonder down the streets of one of the oldest towns in Denmark – Ribe, drive through Hans Christian Andersen's home town – Odense and off course experience beautiful architecture of Copenhagen and take a boat ride down its channels.

Swine flu outbreack in L'viv. No student group this week:-(

Well, at least they say there's a flu outbreak... I personally do not feel that, except for the fact that there are absolutely NO face masks and flu medicine left in the aphoteka's (pharmacy stores). Many people are wearing masks, if they are outside, or stay at home altogether just to limit the risk of getting infected. If you ask me, all the fuzz about it in the media sounds like pre-elections turmoil, just to lift up and praise some of the presidential candidates.

All schools are on quarantine for THREE weeks (can you believe that) including the L'viv Concervatory where we work with students!! That's why we had to cancel our Bible study group this week... Sadly that means that we will have to cancel groups in next two weeks as well. However, we've decided to pray about it and may be have a group anyway next week. We will see. Seems that some students still have stayed in L'viv and didn't go to their home towns.

Me and Katya are doing good (praise the Lord) and are not feeling any signs of the cold. We continue our preparations for going to Passion 2010 conference in Atlanta!! I have already sent our itineraries to the Passion team and have confirmed my vacation at GSM Server. We're looking forward for attending this conference very much. Also, after the conference we will be able to go visit with some friends of ours in Florida. Which is

also so great, and we're looking forward to that very much as well.

P.S. Ok, just to add some more visualization to this swine flu thing (I personally think politicians in Ukraine took it way to far, with overestimating the danger of the situation. But then, on the other hand - it is the PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS YEAR). So, here's a bit of a humorous view on all this (you've probably seen this already, but still
